The First Lady, Michelle Obama will be speaking at the UC Merced on Saturday, May 16, 2009. I was fortunate to receive two tickets for this event. She is giving the commencement speech. I am rather excited to be able to attend this event. I invited a friend that teaches to go with me. I think she was more pleased than I am. It is only because I am sober that I even care to go and hear what she has to say. In the past nothing mattered to me. Today that is not the case. I am so grateful to be sober. Oh and if I wasn't I would never last the day. We have to be on Campus by 11 AM and the ceremony doesn't start till 1:30 PM. They will of course be searching everybody's car. We can't park on site, they will shuttle us to the campus and we will all be searched also. The tickets and parking are absolutely free. I am so pleased.

Wishing the best Holidays ever.

Wishing all of you a very Merry Christmas and that I hope this year is good to you. I also want to let you all know that I passed my History class with an A. I was very pleased, because I really didn't think I did well on the final. But I did and that is very important to me. I know grades are not supposed to be all important, but I have almost a 4.0 grade point and it is very important to me. It has taken me several semesters to get it back up since getting a C in one class. I only take one or two classes a semester, as I work more than a full time job and I am hardly home as it is. I am glad this year is coming to an end.

I didn't post this yesterday, but late is better than not at all. Congratulations on 10 months Robin. I know it isn't easy, keep it up.

Okay I thought it was time to say hi to all of you and let you know that I am trying to find all my friends and do invites. I found some of you, but feel free to invite me if you find me first. This week has been interesting and it is only Tuesday. By tomorrow I will be wishing it was Friday already. Oh no I won't. I have to help prepare food for a wedding reception on Friday. Okay this will be my really trying week. Please just all pray for me to make it through the week. Monday I had the code enforcer's come to inspect my garage for an illegal conversion. A neighbor called the police and told them I have somebody living in my garage. Now I have a full house, but nobody is living in my garage. So I missed three hours of work to meet with them. That is history, no conversion and another false call from the neighbor. One more and it becomes harrassment and I can file a complaint against him. Today I have to be at school right after work, so I will have been gone from home from 7 AM till 10 PM. Tomorrow will be another meeting, Thursday I am going to a gang recognition seminar. And Friday all day cooking. Then we have Celebrate Recovery after that. This will be a good wedding though. It is a recovery couple getting married just before the meeting starts. I am glad to be a part of this. So as I write this, I am liking the way my week sounds more and more. Thanks for letting me sound off.
